Love Is A Hurting Game

When a guy gives all the signals of wanting to date you, but backs off for unknown reasons, it’s Ok for you to try to find out from his friends if he really is interested in you or not.
Many times a guy will show initial interest but back off because someone “better” has come along.
He will continue to play games, keeping you available by showing some interest in you (and you don’t date someone else) while he sees if the other girl is interested in him.
While these “dating games” are a natural part of life experienced mostly by teens, they are also often played by younger adults, such as men that are insecure and inexperienced at dating.
When confronted, finally, you will hear the story of how he was hurt before, he doesn’t want to open himself up to be hurt again. While he may convince himself that this is true, you should be wary… what he’s really doing is setting himself up for a quick exit from any relationship or “close friendship” with you.
Chasing after emotionally distant men is an idea that the “fixer-woman” in you likely seems to be a good idea.
But it remains that you cannot change a man.
Even if some of the signals are there that he is interested in you, do not discount the feelings you have of him not being totally honest with you, or sincere in his desire to date you.
Love is a hurting game, but only when not played by the rules.
